28 Fundamental Beliefs of the Adventist Church

Currently, Adventists hold 28 fundamental beliefs that can be organized into six categories—the doctrines of God, man, salvation, the church, the Christian life and last day events. In each teaching, God is the architect, who in wisdom, grace and infinite love, is restoring a relationship with humanity that will last for eternity. We believe that God Loves God is love, power, and splendor—and God is a mystery. His ways are far beyond us, but He still reaches out to us. God is infinite yet intimate, three yet one, all-knowing yet all-forgiving.

There were few delays or unnecessary drawn-out discussions and debates. He surely knew how to keep a committee going without giving the appearance of rushing the discussion or even denying wise contributions. His sense of humour, coupled with a knowledgeable grasp of church policies and operations, allowed for smooth and lively meetings. He was passionate about his church and equally so about the then West Indies College (now Northern Caribbean University). He fearlessly but tactfully and respectfully led the charge in securing additional funding . . . Read more

MACK & MACK IN TACT

This photo is from special memories archives of the life of the late Pastor Silas N. McKinney. "Mack & Mack: Evangelist Silas N. McKinney and Pastor Leslie V.McMillan, together held an evangelistic series on Farrington Road, Chippingham, Nassau in March 1963. It was a power team for Jesus. Their pet name was "Mack and Mack." Pastor McKinney preached and Pastor McMillan assisted him in the series. Pastor McKinney was the first Bahamian pastor to conduct a public tent evangelistic meeting in Nassau. As a result of that great effort 100 souls were baptized and the Johnson Park Seventh-day Adventist Church was born. Today the Johnson Park Adventist Church is a beacon of hope and life in the Chippingham constituency on the island of New Providence. Go to McKinney page
