As the South  Bahamas Conference gears up for the Lord Transform Me Reaping Campaign, the goal has to be uppermost in every member’s mind. Unfortunately, it has become common today to dismiss the idea of evangelistic goals and relegate it to just numbers. Such a posture is a huge mistake, as the church becomes laisez- faire, and dull in public witness (Matt. 28:18-20; Revelation 14:6-12). Essentially, winning souls for Christ is exclusively for the glory of God (1 Cor. 10:31; John 3:16). Notwithstanding the penchant of many to relish the accolades that come with evangelistic exploits, believers cannot be sidetracked in the pursuit of soul winning goals.

Every member occupies the position of a spiritual leader - directing people to Christ. As such none can lose sight of the essential purpose. The indisputable purpose is winning souls for the glory of God (2 Tim. 4: 1-8). When every member carries out his or her role as a spiritual leader then huge numbers of people will have an encounter with Jesus Christ (Acts 2). Ultimately, the exposure to Jesus Christ, and his teachings will result in the exponential numerical growth of the church. What is at stake here is the very existence of the church.

On February 1 - 9, 2019, a number of evangelistic series will be conducted throughout the South Bahamas Conference. The intention is to witness 600 persons give their lives to Jesus Christ in baptism on February 9, 2019. As spiritual leaders every Seventh-day Adventist Christian must keep the goal in mind - six hundred souls for the glory of God.

In order to make it happen all members of the South Bahamas Conference must do the following:

  • Clearly articulate the purpose for the Lord Transform Me Reaping Campaign.
  • Communicate the goal in a way that keeps every member focused on its attainment.
  • Make it the business of every person to mobilize and work together harmoniously toward the goal.
  • Persevere despite obstacles, digressions and setbacks.
  • Determine to accomplish the goal for the glory of God. (Warren L. Hoffman, The Secret of the Harvest: Mobilizing for Team Evangelism 130-134).

Begin to see yourself as a spiritual leader with the responsibility to manage and guide others to the goal. Remember it begins with a personal request and prayer, Lord Transform Me (Rom. 12: 1-2).  Let us determine to be fruitful in character and numbers (Matt. 5:14-16; John 15; Gal. 5:22-23).
