A Call To Live A Life Committed To Prayer

In 1989 the winds of freedom were sweeping across Europe and many of the totalitarian regimes were crumbling like sandcastles when hit by waves of the sea. One of the most totalitarian governments in eastern Europe was the regime in eastern Germany. This regime was particularly harsh in dealing with dissenters. It was in 1985 that a small group of Christians formed a church in Germany and thus started a prayer movement. Even though initially the movement was small they met consistently, faithfully, every Monday evening.

Another group was located in East Berlin and they were encouraged by the Leipzig prayer movement. Though small in their beginning, thousands soon joined them, and they thus prayed as only they could for the glory of God.  There is an adage that states "prayer changes things". We cannot vouch for the veracity of prayer, but we do know that praying people changed the course of Modern Europe.

As we have come to the month of November, we are reminded that it is now Week of Prayer and every church is asked to be a part of this great program of the church. During this first week of November 2 – 9, 2019 we will consider a few questions of great importance regarding the gift of prophecy. As we join the world church in spending time seeking the face of God, may we pray, realizing that the power to live the Christian life first starts with a life of prayer. Let’s change the course of the South Bahamas Conference and the Bahamas as we commit to prayer.

Pastor Leonardo Rahming, Executive Secretary and Prayer Coordinator for the South Bahamas Conference.

Islam and Christianity-Daniel 11

November 27-30, 2019 at the Centreville Seventh-day Adventist Church with Guest Presenter Tim Roosenberg, Author of the book Islam & Christianity In Prophecy: a study of Daniel 11.

‘The headlines are unmistakable. Our world is on the precipice of extraordinary cataclysmic change. The conflict between two great world religions—Islam and Christianity—is fast approaching a devastating climax that will shake the whole world. Indeed, the face of Western Europe has already been transformed through rapid Islamic expansion, and the fear of terror and holy war pervade the world's psyche as multiple conflicts rage in the Middle East and beyond. But what happens next—and when?’

Roosenberg will present on current events and how prophecies are being fulfilled, Ellen G. White, Daniel 11 and the role of Atheism.

Join us as we unveil a thrilling picture of prophecy and the past, present, and future roles of Catholicism, Protestantism, Islam, and the United States in the final conflict ahead. Don’t miss this study into the word of God.
