On February 9-10, 2018, Dr. Carlton Byrd, speaker/ director of Breath of Life will be the guest speaker for three services at the Good News Seventh-day Adventist Church located on Great Britain Street in Flamingo Gardens. The first service will be held Friday at 7:00 p.m. The worship experience continues at 11 o’clock on Sabbath morning. The weekend climaxes on Sabbath at 5:30 p.m.
Dr. Byrd is the senior pastor of the historic Oakwood University Church, located in Huntsville, Alabama, USA. Make plans now to be a part of this spirit-filled weekend, and invite a friend to attend the services with you. Breath of Life airs on the HOPE Channel every Friday at 5:00 p.m.

The state of the Conference annual meeting begun with a packed sanctuary and on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at the Hillview Adventist Church. The first night featured the Children's and Adolescence Ministries of the South Bahamas Conference. The music and preaching of the gifted children inspired the congregation. State of the Conference is an annual event when the president presents his plans for the coming year. This year it is being held for a few days (Wednesday to Sabbath) instead of the usual Sabbath afternoon alone. On Thursday the Adventist Youth will be feature and on Friday, the Personal Ministries Department will be featured.

In a statement, leaders call to uphold ethnic diversity as one of the nations’ strengths.
The Statue of Liberty, a longstanding symbol of freedom in the United States, has these words engraved on its base: “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore, … Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me; I lift my lamp beside the golden door!” Some today, however, are questioning the presence of those on our shores who come from countries currently facing political, economic, and natural disaster challenges. It was exciting! It was fun! Yes, the faces of our children from across the South Bahamas Conference were bright during the launching of "The Talking Backpack. . .The Year of the Child and Adolescent.” It was Sabbath, January 13, 2018, at 3:30 p.m., at the Hillview Seventh-day Adventist Church. Organized by Joan Scavella, director of Children and Adolescent Ministries of the South Bahamas Conference, along with Melba Dinorah Rivera, Children and Adolescent Ministries Director of the Inter-American Division, the meeting was filled with information and more excitingly, a Talking Backpack.
