PASTOR ERIC D. CLARKE, M.A., J.P.

Pastor Eric D. Clarke was born on the island of Exuma, Bahamas to Elder Albert [deceased] and Mrs. Letticia Clarke. He graduated in 1976 from the Government High School, in Nassau, New Providence.

The pursuit of his College education took him to the beautiful island of Jamaica where he graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor’s degree in Theology with a minor in Greek, from the West Indies College [Northern Caribbean University].

In 1993, Pastor Clarke completed a Master’s degree from Andrew’s University in Berrien Spring, Michigan.

He served as a full-time minister with the Bahamas Conference of Seventh-day Adventist for 27 years.  During this time, he served at a number of churches and districts including the islands of New Providence, Grand Bahama, Eleuthera, North and South Andros, Acklins and Crooked Island. He also served the Conference briefly as Communications director, ten years as Youth Director and seven years as Executive Secretary.

Pastor Clarke has done extensive work among the youth of the Bahamas, especially during his 10-year stint as the National Youth Director for the Conference.

He served as a volunteer member of the Bahamas National Drug Council, Prison Fellowship Bahamas, and the Bahamas National Scholarships Committee of the Ministry of Education.  He also served as Deputy Chair of the Youth Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Youth and sat on the Juvenile Panel for the Bahamas.

Pastor Clarke’s love for evangelism has taken him to England, [Pastor Wilfred Blake], Nairobi, USA and in Jamaica, Highgate, St Mary, Port Antonio, Portland, Savanna La Mar and Lucea.

He is a Marriage Officer and a Justice of the Peace for 30 years for the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.

Pastor Clarke was elected President and Education Director of the Cayman Islands Conference in June 2008. Shortly thereafter, God allowed the Adventist church to sit on the 6-member Constitution Committee, which has ushered in a new Constitution for the Cayman Islands [2009]. Cayman Academy has seen unprecedented growth in many respects with 95% of the teaching staff holding a bachelors degree. Evangelism has experienced new and historic heights, to the honor of God. A new congregation, the Ebenezer church was established with 205 newly baptized persons. Ground breaking took place for the West Bay Church; the George Town church is 95% completed in its multipurpose building and the Kings church dedicated on January 08, 2012.

Pastor Clarke’s life partner and spouse Sister Patrice is a registered nurse, registered midwife and nursing sister in the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. She has served many years as Clinical Director of the Bahamas’ Adolescent Health Clinic. Pastor and Mrs. Clarke have 3 young adult children: Daran, [age 24], who completed the Bachelor’s degree from Oakwood University and a MBA from Washington Adventist University; Dannia, [age 21] a final year Psychology major at Oakwood University; and Danesha [age 20], a third year Education major at Oakwood University.

Pastor Clarke served for four years in the leadership of the Cayman Islands Conference, 2008-2012. He has returned to the Bahamas, his native home to resume ministry there.

He is the Ministerial Director for the Conference and Pastor of Bethany Church.

He covets the prayers of the saints as we prepare folk for the coming of the Lord.
