Women's Ministries: "Sisters for Sisters"

What was “normal” just two months ago is drastically different now. Going to work has changed. Going to church has changed. Going grocery shopping has changed. Interacting with family and friends has changed. To sum it all up, life has drastically changed.

With any type of change, our natural inclination is to switch into “what if mode”. What if I don’t make the change? What if I don’t like the change? What If I don’t survive the change?

This scenario describes many, if not most of us. Our reaction, our response, our state of mind. We are all human and, in our humanness, there are times, especially in times of crisis, we not only forget who we are, but whose we are. Who are we? God’s Beloved Daughters.

Sisters let us shake off our shoes of worry and slip-on shoes of worship. Replace our hats of fear, for fascinators of faith. Turn our lockdown misery into dynamic ministries that transcend the four walls of a traditional church.

Yes, pangs of uncertainty will trouble us from time to time. However, from one sister to another, let me remind you of this: “Day by day and with each passing moment, ..strength we find to meet our trials here. Trusting in our father’s wise bestowment, we’ve no cause for worry or for fear”.

Covid-19 came and presumably knocked us way off course. But whose course? Ours or God’s? If we truly believe in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, we will seize the current opportunity to reflect on, reconfigure, and reset our ministry’s compass.

Stay in faith dear sister, this too shall pass. READY! God has an amazing work for us to do when this is behind us. SET!! Let’s get poised to…GO!!!

MEN’S MINISTRIES
May 16, 2020 is World Day of the Boy Child. Today we would like to encourage our Men’s leaders in our churches and men in general to mentor a young man/boy to help steer him in the right direction. Do you know that boys go through physical, psychological and emotional pain? Do you know that boys undergo depression and can be consumed by low self-esteem and repressed emotions? Do you know that boys have natural and spontaneous reaction to disappointment? Do you know that boys are vulnerable too? Listed are the ten core principles of our World Day of the Boy Child, and we will continue as Men to do our part to ensure our boys and young men have good role models.
1. Educating and mentoring.
2. Honouring boys who are talented and achievers.
3. Rescuing boys from poverty and war.
4. Eradicating illiteracy and underachievement.
5. Addressing discrimination against boys.
6. Promoting positive minds and healthy boys.
7. Offering freedom and safety.
8. Championing equality and equity.
9. Maintaining good values and morals.
10. Empowering boys.
