On May 27-31, 2019 the South Bahamas Conference Communications Department will host its Annual Pledge-a-thon to raise funds for our Media Ministries.

God has blessed this church with more than we could ask for as we are the only denomination in the Bahamas that own and operate a Radio Station and we have full access to a Television Channel (HOPE Channel) as our very own Adventist Television (ATV658) Channel. However, we have not maximized these opportunities.

Although we are truly blessed to have a Radio Station and a TV Channel, we have not kept pace with technology to remain current and on the cutting edge, as this area is constantly advancing.

Therefore, we are asking our members and our friends to participate in the upcoming Pledge-a-Thon. No donation is too small and with your help, we can take the South Bahamas Conference Media Ministries to a higher level and produce additional programming that we can all be proud of. There are several areas you can contribute to, namely:

1. The cost for the shipping, and erection of the new Radio Tower we recently purchased.

2. The purchase of new video cameras (for the studio and for mobile assignments), tripods, a teleprompter, the redesigning of our Television Studio, and a new Playbox (to update the outdated equipment currently used to broadcast our local & International television programming).

3. HOPE TV App to broadcast to the family islands not covered by Cable television service.

4. Speakers, microphones, mic stands, cables, and computers.

The world has changed, and the fact is we have access to more people via radio and TV than we can ever get into our churches or under a tent, it is time for us to utilize the blessings of God wisely and embrace every opportunity to provide professional first-class programming for our public.

Recognizing the fact that more people watch T.V. and listen to the radio than we could ever get into our churches or under a tent. It is important for us to address the issue of acquiring our badly needed upgrades which will provide much better programming than we currently produce with the outdated equipment we use today.

We look forward to your support during this Pledge-A-Thon, May 27-31, 2019. Please go to the conference website for more information on how you can give to this ministry, place a donation in your tithe envelope marked “SBC MEDIA DEPARTMENT” or call us at 341-4021 or 424-3824. Together and with the assured help of God, we can Take Media Ministries to the Next Level. --Mrs. Lavern A. Sturrup, Communication Director.
