Currently, Adventists hold 28 fundamental beliefs that can be organized into six categories—the doctrines of God, man, salvation, the church, the Christian life and last day events. In each teaching, God is the architect, who in wisdom, grace and infinite love, is restoring a relationship with humanity that will last for eternity. We believe that God Loves God is love, power, and splendor—and God is a mystery. His ways are far beyond us, but He still reaches out to us. God is infinite yet intimate, three yet one, all-knowing yet all-forgiving.

I grew up in the Seventh-day Adventist Church and I distinctly remember, even as a child, the church’s main focus was always on ‘winning souls for the kingdom’. The popular text, Matthew 28:19-20, was recited in Sabbath School by toddlers, teenagers in pathfinders, and by the eldest of members in the pews. “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” We all knew that telling others about Jesus Christ was our mission and we carried out this mission everywhere we went and through whatever medium we had access to. "There were four clergymen who were discussing the merits of the various translations of the Bible. One liked the King James Version best because of its simple beautiful English. Another liked the American Revised Version best because it is more literal and comes nearer the original Hebrew and Greek.
Still another liked Moffatt's translation best because of its up to date vocabulary. The fourth minister was silent. When asked to express his opinion, he replied, "I like my mother's translation best." The other three expressed surprise. They did no know that his mother had translated the Bible.
